SALLY FRENCH ’95, M.Div ’01 was consecrated and installed to serve as the 13th Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of New Jersey in June. Read her recent interview in Trinity’s Divinity alumni newsletter here.

KATHARINE (HARRISON) AFFLECK-JACQUES ’14 and CLAIR JACQUES joined godparents Jennifer Repec and Dean Cutting in May for the baptism of Charlotte Mae Affleck-Jacques in the Trinity Chapel. Reverend Andrea Budgey officiated the ceremony.

 

HANNAH KOZLOWSKI ’16 (PhD U of T, ’22) was the first recipient of the Future Leaders Prize in August 2023. The prize, to be awarded annually, was created by the Emerging and Pandemic Infections Consortium. It recognizes outstanding PhD graduates at the University of Toronto who have completed an excellent infectious disease-focused thesis and demonstrated leadership outside of their scientific studies.

PETER LOVE ’71 was recently awarded the 2024 Clean50 Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his contribution to Canada’s Clean Economy as a leading advocate for energy efficiency and promoting a Culture of Conservation.

AZRAH MANJI-SAVIN ’12 took top prize at the 2023 Collison tech conference in Toronto in June for her startup company Size, an online platform that connects food entrepreneurs and businesses with underused commercial kitchen spaces.

 

PAUL PATON ’88 was appointed Dean of Law and Donald Kennedy Chair in Law at the Fowler School of Law at Chapman University in Orange, California in June. He is the third person to hold deanships at both Canadian and American law schools, having served as Dean at the University of Alberta from 2014-2019.

MICHAEL GEOFFREY PEERS ’59 (M.Div ’78) passed away in July 2023. Read the recollections of Trinity alumna Rev. Helena Houldcroft (M.Div ’83).

BRIAN QUIRT ’86 received the Lessing Award for Lifetime Achievement in Dramaturgy, awarded by the Literary Managers and Dramaturgs of the America’s at their 2023 annual international conference in Banff, Alberta, in June 2023.

 

BIRTHS

TIFFANY (McKENZIE) TORRIE ’08 and MARK TORRIE: A daughter, Emmaline Alice Torrie, on July 12 in Grimsby, Ontario. Emmaline is the niece of Ashley McKenzie ’09, granddaughter of Victoria Couzens ’79 and cousin of Alison Torrie ’08. Congratulations!
