Viridis Project: Plant your name on campus

This year, Trinity College alumni and friends have a new opportunity to plant their names on the campus they love—and Michael Scott ’12 is doing so, literally. With a $5,000 gift to Trinity’s new Viridis Project, Scott’s support will be recognized with a plaque beside an ornamental tree on the lush grounds of Trinity’s new Lawson Centre for Sustainability, slated to open in September 2025.

Drawn to Trinity as a student for its close-knit community and beautiful architecture, it was a natural choice for Scott to support a stunning new building where future students will live, learn and connect. From its geothermal heating and mass timber structure to its rooftop farm and pollinator-friendly landscaping plan, the building’s state-of-the-art sustainable features are also a perfect fit with Scott’s passion for the environment.

Donors’ support for the Viridis Project will be recognized on features at the Lawson Centre for Sustainability such as trees (like the one Michael is supporting), benches, student lockers, and residence rooms. With gifts starting at $1,500 for a student locker (just $125 in 12 monthly payments), Viridis provides alumni with a range of opportunities to weave a visible reminder of their love for the College into its next chapter.

“University is a marvelous time and Trinity is a magical place,” says Scott. “I am lucky to have the opportunity to give back to future generations of Trin students. I couldn’t pass up this chance.”
