From Alana’s Laptop

I hope that this message finds you and your loved ones well. I continue to work from home, as do many of the Trinity staff who do not need to be physically present on campus to look after the students who have returned to residence. I occasionally enjoy visits from Toby the puppy, pictured above, providing an adorable highlight in my day.

Your support of our students has been incredible. Alumni have led the way, bolstered by additional gifts from faculty, staff and other members of the Trinity community, in establishing Urgent Bursary Support, and this summer, BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Colour) Bursary Support. To date, we have raised $316,996.58 to help Trinity students. Thank you!

In a time when it seems so much of our daily news is negative, I am thrilled to share that the Living Trinity Campaign continues to move forward through the generosity of our community. We are excited to share more about the campaign in the Fall 2020 issue of Trinity magazine, which will be arriving in your mailbox in a few weeks. It will be our only print issue this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. (If you aren’t receiving the magazine and would like to be added to our mailing list, please drop us a line at alumni@trinity.utoronto.ca). In this issue you’ll learn more about our plans for our campus, our programs and our student supports, and some of the people who are helping to make those plans a reality. We continue to refine our building design and will keep you updated about our progress.

We are excited to bring some thought-provoking events and speakers to your computer screen this fall, including the Most Rev. Michael Curry, Presiding Bishop of The Episcopal Church, delivering a virtual Larkin-Stuart Lecture, and a virtual Conversations with the Chancellor event. Please check the Events section of the Trinity website (under the “Connect” tab) for updates.

We are so grateful for the incredibly supportive Trinity community. Thank you for your continued involvement and investments in your College. And please feel free to reach out anytime at alumni@trinity.utoronto.ca — we love hearing from you!
